Our Etsy3

By Rebecca - September 13, 2018

There sure are some creative folks out there in the world! We’re so inspired by what others have conjured up and crafted with their own hands! There’s just nothing like browsing through Etsy for homemade or vintage finds – the hunt for perfectly unique gifts offered to fellow mamas, besties… and, of course, ourselves!

Here are 3 of our everyday Etsy faves:

Happy Soul!

Kate from boltandrally is the super sweet artist who hails from Toronto, Canada. She offers handmade home décor that has us smiling – perfect for a teacher’s gift, Mother’s Day, or just ‘cause. We can definitely get behind her site’s tagline: “happy home, happy soul.” Definitely!

Kate offers 4” and 6” terracotta planters in either a natural or white finish (our favorite). You can also opt for a more dramatic black and white look. Then all that’s left to do is just choose a cute, whimsical quote stenciled in lowercase black ink.

Supportive Roots

We love our recently purchased “You Grow Girl”! Other mambare faves include: “Can’t Touch This” for your cactus plant, “Grow Old With Me” to spruce up your partner’s office, and “Aloe, Welcome” that just makes us giggle. You can also send Kate a message for a personalized quote.

She’s super quick with responses and incredibly friendly. And how cute is her sign-off? She’s rooting for us to be happy too! Get it? Roots? Enjoy!

Wit's the Word

Believe it or not, we grew up (for a while) with the artiste extraordinaire who started witandwhistle! Granted she was just a little girl back then but her sense of humor and endless creativity were already so palpable! Amanda Wright calls Raleigh, North Carolina home. She is quirky, loves acquiring new plants every chance she gets (I hear ya, girl!), and creates pure magic with witty greeting cards and paper goods.

Cards, Stamps, and Pins

Amanda just started selling rubber stamps too – throwback to the early 90s when they were all the rage! And her on-trend enamel pins are worth a peek (we’re looking at you, “Lady Power!”… complete with requisite fallopian tubes!). We often use our witandwhistle greeting cards “Vintage Text Message” to send love to our friends abroad, and we’re currently eyeing a first Father’s Day card for a friend, which reads “Way to have strong swimmers!” It doesn’t hurt that she has close to 30,000 sales and more than 9,000 5-star reviews! Go mama!

Boobs and Schweddy Balls

Amanda definitely says it like it is. Think tons of hysterical references to lady parts, balls and bad breath! You can check witandwhistle out either on Etsy or on Amanda’s standalone website.

Timeless, Classy Gifts

A few years ago, we purchased a wall clock for our father-in-law who loves Paris. He was smitten! #nailedit Iluxo Jewelry & Design is run by Mariko Carandang and is inspired by simple Japanese design and modern skylines. Handmade in San Francisco from your choice of bamboo (our fave!) or walnut, the signature skyline clocks are unique pieces for your own home, a nod to the nostalgia of places since visited, or for your adventure-loving friend.

There are more than 50 cities to choose your skyline from. Our faves are definitely the City of Lights, the highly recognizable NYC horizon, and a personal one from our travels, Shanghai. Just brainstorming here: why not create a gallery wall of various time zones, each with a different skyline clock? Hmmmm… now that’s Pinterest-worthy!

Also make sure to check out Mariko’s jewelry and watch holders. Useful, minimal, and gorgeous!
