Celebrating Spring Around the World!
Happy Spring mamabares! Almost time to pack up the snow boots and spend more warm time outdoors!
Today marks the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Some places have experienced a long, harsh winter that has dragged on. Others have enjoyed the more moderate temperatures of a soggy, warm winter. In North America, we often think of this day as a synonym for melting snow, newly budding plants and the buildup to Easter. In fact, the equinox marks equal amounts of daytime and nighttime: 12 hours each.
This time of year is celebrated worldwide with festivities rooted in ancient rituals and traditions. People have incorporated new and changing customs throughout the years.
